Argentina beats Morocco in Olympic football to reach semis

Saint-Etienne, France - Argentina reached the semi-finals of the Olympic football tournament on Saturday after beating Morocco 3-1.

Argentina will now face either Spain or Brazil in the semi-finals, while Morocco's Olympic campaign is over.

Argentina took the lead in the first half through a goal from Adolfo Gaich, and doubled their advantage in the second half through a goal from Ezequiel Barco. Morocco pulled a goal back through Aymen Barkok, but Argentina sealed the win with a late goal from Matias Zaracho.

The match was marred by crowd trouble, with Morocco fans invading the pitch after Argentina's third goal. The referee was forced to stop the game for several minutes while order was restored.

Argentina will now be confident of reaching the final, while Morocco will be disappointed to have their Olympic campaign end at the quarter-final stage.
