NEW YORK - April 16, 2024 - Jury selection resumed today for the third day in the trial of former President Donald Trump on hush-money charges. The process of selecting jurors for the criminal case has accelerated, with seven jurors chosen so far. The jurors selected thus far include a salesman, a homemaker, a retired teacher, and a business owner. The court is expected to continue jury selection on Tuesday, April 18. Trump and his co-defendants are accused of violating campaign finance laws by making hush money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal during the 2016 presidential campaign. The trial is expected to last several weeks. If convicted, Trump could face up to five years in prison.
