Members of the Parliament Without the Faction

Georgia's Political Landscape

The Parliament of Georgia is the country's highest representative body, composed of 150 members elected through a mixed electoral system. The most recent parliamentary elections were held on October 31 and November 21, 2020.

Factionless Members

A notable feature of the Georgian Parliament is the presence of members who do not belong to any political faction. These factionless members, often referred to as "independent deputies," constitute a significant portion of the parliament and play a unique role in the country's political decision-making.

Independent deputies come from diverse backgrounds and hold a range of political views. Some are former members of political parties who have chosen to leave their factions, while others have never been affiliated with any political organization. Their independence allows them to approach issues with a less partisan perspective and to advocate for the interests of their constituents without being bound by party lines.
