Everton Vs Liverpool

Liverpool's Title Hopes Take a Hit After Everton Loss

Jurgen Klopp's Post-Match Comments

"We Were Second Best"

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that his team were "second best" in their 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday. The defeat leaves Liverpool nine points behind leaders Manchester City with just six games remaining in the Premier League season.

"We didn't play well enough today," Klopp said. "We were second best in all departments. We didn't create enough chances, we didn't defend well enough, and we didn't play with enough intensity. Everton deserved to win the game."

Klopp also praised Everton manager Frank Lampard for his team's performance.

"Everton played very well today," Klopp said. "They were well-organized, they worked hard, and they created a lot of chances. Frank Lampard has done a great job with this team and they deserve all the credit for their performance today."

"We Need to Improve"

Klopp said that Liverpool need to improve their performance if they want to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.

"We need to improve our performance in all areas," Klopp said. "We need to create more chances, we need to defend better, and we need to play with more intensity. We have six games left in the season and we need to win every game if we want to have any chance of winning the title."

Liverpool will next face Villarreal in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.
